History
• 1989 - Design entrepreneurs
Amy Hillenbrand and Jeryl Mitsch
couple their years of commercial design
experience to launch
Hillenbrand Mitsch Design, Inc.
• 1990 - Hillenbrand Mitsch begins hiring
employees to serve growing
roster of regional and national clients.
• 1991 - Firm expands and establishes headquarter
offices on the northside
of Indianapolis, Indiana.
• 1992 - Hillenbrand Mitsch
Design wins an Addy Award from the Advertising
Club of Indianapolis for marketing materials.
• 1993 - Jeryl Mitsch is honored by The
International Facilities Management
Association as Member Of The Year.
• 1995 - Hillenbrand Mitsch Design is featured
on the cover of the Indianapolis
Inside Office Guide.
• 1997 - The Hartford Insurance Company
hires Hillenbrand Mitsch Design to
handle Midwest offices.
• 1997 - Experiencing powerful growth, firm
moves to expanded offices in the
Meridian business corridor of Indianapolis.
The office space was featured in
many publications for its state-of-the-art
design.
• 2001 - HM wins the Monumental Affair Award
of Excellence in
Design & Development.
• 2002 - We received the Women Business
Enterprise (d) WBE certification.
• 2002 - The firm wins first place for its
entry in the Julian House Christmas
Tree For Charity Event.
• 2003 - CEO, Jeryl Mitsch assumes sole
ownership of the firm and it
begins operating as HMitsch Design.
• 2004
- Fueled by client diversification, operational and management focus,
HM triples
its staff to service a surging increase in hospitality, museum,
higher education
and corporate clientele.
• 2004 - Buy Design, LLC., a sister company
was founded.
• 2005 - HMD office space is expanded again
for additional staff members and
to create one of the areas most extensive
and client-friendly finishes/ materials library.
• 2007 - We change our name to Mitsch design and move to our fabulous new location at 103rd and Meridian street.
